Nancy King, MS, RDN - Founder & Executive Director || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she, her)

Bio
Nancy is the founder of Your Life Nutrition. Having been in practice for over 25 years, Nancy is a nationally recognized pioneer and expert in eating disorder care and recovery. Nancy’s work with adolescents, teens and adults is focused on empowering individuals to experience unmistakable peace and health through eating well, movement, self-acceptance, self-expression and self-care. She is an avid volleyball player and may someday have her own dog. In the meantime, she loves spending time with her son’s dogs, Walle and Flynn.

Nancy's Share: "When I go camping I love toasting marshmallows. I really take my time getting the texture and color just right. It's an art. I have another and another til I feel satisfied.”

Gloria Williamson, MS, RDN - Clinical Director || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she/her)

Bio
Gloria’s background in pediatric nutrition brought her into family homes all over Los Angeles with many languages, cuisines, cultures and economic resources. She meets her clients exactly where they are and immerses herself in their experience of their own gender expression, neurodiversity, mental health, sensory sensitivity, body association and self-care skills. Gloria considers dance her spiritual home and gets a lot of joy out of being in a garden.

Gloria's Share: “I hate water. I rarely notice when I’m thirsty. If it were up to me, I would only drink coffee, tea and the occasional glass of wine. I would dry up into a sweet and shriveled version of myself… like a raisin.”

Sherry Lin, MFA, RDN || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she, her)

Bio
Sherry provides a holistic, non-diet approach to help clients experience greater joy and fulfillment in life and in their relationship with food. For Sherry, "healthy" means finding balance physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually. She is committed to walking alongside clients as they discover what “healthy” means for them. Sherry values cultural awareness and nuance, diversity and health equity, community and radical self-care. She has worked in community nutrition in homeless intervention, sports nutrition, and eating disorder and disordered eating recovery. During her free time, you can find her dancing or teaching dance (hip hop) and planning her next getaway/adventure!

Sherry's Share: “I absolutely LOVE food! Growing up, my relatives loved feeding me because they said the way I ate made the food look like it tasted sooo good. According to my friends, I still have that effect to this day!”

Bio
Anna is an expert in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, using the powerful healing properties of whole food-based nutrition, and in many cases, targeted supplementation to bring about transformation in health and well being. Anna works with all ages to embrace a loving, nurturing attitude towards their own bodies. Anna loves to be outside in most any capacity…..camping, hiking, running, swimming, and reading outside on the front porch or in the woods.

Anna's Share: “I believe garlic, olive oil and salt will make anything taste amazing. One of my favorite things to make is pesto. It's so easy to make for how amazing it tastes! I put it on anything and everything!”

Emily (Marr) Bown, MS, RDN || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she/her)

Bio
Emily’s passions for mental health and nutrition have led her to specialize in eating disorders/ disordered eating (orthorexia, obsessive eating, etc.), anxiety/depression around food, intuitive eating (whatever that means to you), and body kindness/positivity. Emily loves connecting with people at a deeper level and making food fun again. She believes that food makes life more exciting and memorable and shouldn’t control your life; Emily is here to show you just that.

Emily's Share: “I am a coffeeholic! I have been to over 30 mom and pop/ local coffee shops in SoCal. I love finding hidden gems that either make their own syrups/ nut milks, roast their own beans, support a cause, women owned/run, family owned/run, and/or are quaint and cute. Getting out and exploring new coffee shops is like my little self care/happy time - I'm always down for a coffee date!”

Hadis Schertzer, RDN || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she/her)

Bio
Hadis follows a collaborative and sustainable approach to nutrition counseling where she honors the biological and cultural diversity of her clients. Working with all ages, Hadis’s expertise lies in disordered eating and eating disorders. She supports clients in their recovery journey through self compassion, body acceptance, and making food choices based on nourishment instead of rules and restriction. In her free time Hadis enjoys spending time with her baby boy and trying out new foodie spots in LA.

Hadis's Share: “As a first generation Iranian American, I grew up in a home full of intoxicating scents of herbs, seasoned rice and chai (tea w/ cardamon). My family would often fight over who got the biggest, crispiest piece of tahdig, the golden, crunchy pan-fried layer of the bottom of the rice. As soon as my mom took it out of the pot, I would always steal a piece, burning my fingertips... but it was worth it!”

Sasha Silver, MS, RDN || Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (she, her)

Bio
Sasha’s food philosophy involves creating a symbiotic relationship with food. We are individuals, and our nutritional needs are unique. We feed, fuel, and manage our bodies differently. The goal is to connect, identify and build balanced nourishment AND pleasure with a compassionate and flexible attitude. With a background in child development, Sasha has a passion for working with young children and teens. Having struggled with her own relationship with food, Sasha has made it her mission to help others identify and develop intuitive eating practices through a non-diet, weight-inclusive, evidence-based nutritional approach. Sasha specializes in eating disorders (ARFID, AN, BN, BED, etc.) and disordered eating patterns. All foods can fit! EveryBODY is different and should be treated as such.

Sasha's Share: “I would call myself an adventurous eater! I will try just about anything! My most recent adventure: The Bug Bagel. Yes, it was a bagel with cream cheese, mealworms, crickets, and avocado. Delicious!”

Kate Manzke, BS, RDN (she/her)

Bio
Kate has been with Your Life Nutrition since 2014. Her passion for nourishing bodies has led her to follow a career in dietetics, obtaining her BS in Human Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Physiology. She successfully completed her dietetic internship through Pepperdine University where she gained experience in clinical and community practices as well as private practice throughout LA county. She is currently preparing for the national exam to become a registered dietitian this year. Kate was an accomplished student athlete at Cal Poly Pomona and has continued to compete in distance running events. Her knowledge of sports nutrition and professional and personal experience makes her a key resource for our practice and her clients. She wants to help people find the same appreciation and pure amazement with their body that she has. Kate believes giving “good, nutritious food to our body is one way we can thank it for everything it does.”

Kate's Share: “Contrast is what really makes me appreciate life. Whether that’s jumping in the refreshing ocean on a hot day, sitting still and feeling my breath slow after a fast run or feeling full after being hungry – these are the things that make me happy.”

Andi has been the administrator for Your Life Nutrition since January 2013. She does everything from keeping the business side of our nutrition therapy practice running smoothly to being our thorough and welcoming intake coordinator. When you call, it’s likely to be Andi’s voice you’ll hear on the other end.
